Prince of Oldenburg received from Alexander the First title of His Imperial Highness, and became Governor-General of specially designed enlarged province of the former three regions: Tver, Novgorod and Yaroslavl. A young couple settles in Tver - a Trip Palace (see photo). In Tver, there is the second Russian Imperial Court. This often comes to the Emperor Alexander the First. There is going to color the entire Russian high society, often hosted famous musicians, artists, architects, writers and poets.
Tver became the center of Russia's conservative opposition. In the Travel Palace historian Nikolai Karamzin read the king the head has not yet published the book "History of the Russian state." In marriage, the Prince of Oldenburg and Ekaterina Pavlovna had two sons: Alexander (1810-1829) and Peter (1812-1881, from general infaterii, Senator). General Government of the three provinces after the death of the prince was disbanded, Ekaterina Pavlovna went abroad, where in 1816 she married the heir to the throne of Wurttemberg - Prince Frederick William, but not long lived, dying in 1819 at 31 years old.
