The connection between Apple and Steve Jobs is different from any other brand and relationship with the CEO in Corporate americas world and anywhere in the world. You see this man as the public face of Apple, the creative force behind every gadgets that publishes. In fact Jobs is the epitome of the mark so that even "Mac" in the Mac vs. PC ads clearly tried to evoke the same founder.
So when Jobs has the flu, Apple sneezes. And that's why the rumors about his health are particularly serious for Apple. It started in the blogosphere in June after which Mr. Jobs-who had been diagnosed with cancer in 2004 - appeared extremely thin, while introducing the new version of the iPhone.
